Shortly after our Wedding in 1971 my husband Wayne took a photo of me on our journey from Windsor Ontario to Edmonton. his photo inspired me to paint this self portrait. I was 19 at that time.
There is something so comforting about the warmth and brilliance of a fire, something that stills the heart and soothes the spirit. It reminds me of the closeness and warmth of those silent moments in God’s presence, when the cares of this life slip away as His still small voice encourages my heart with a whisper of hope.
“Truly my soul silently waits for God...” Psalm 62:1
