This self portrait was inspired by a photo taken my husband Wayne shortly after our Wedding in 1971 on our journey from Windsor Ontario to Edmonton. There is something about the warmth and brilliance of a fire that stills the heart and soothes the spirit. It reminds me of the closeness and warmth of those silent moments in God’s presence, when the cares of this life slip away as His still small voice encourages my heart with a whisper of hope. “Truly my soul silently waits for God...” Psalm 62:1
